NO ANGLO-CHINESE PACT LONDON, July 13. The Domei News Agency quotes a leading article in the Tokio newspaper, “Nichi Niehl” saying/that Britain is about to sign a treaty with China, and that the United States will join the pact. Similar reports are published by the Tokio newspapers “Yomeura” and “Asahi” but it is officially stated in London that these reports are untrue. It is assumed that the Domei News Agency is giving the reports publicity in an attempt to stir up anti-Bri-tish feeling in Japan. ANGLO-U.S.A. CO-OPERATION. (Rec-. 1.45 p.m.) LONDON, July 14. The dominant school in the Government is urging a naval move against IndoChina and Thailand. Britain and the United States are closely watching the developments, and exchanging information oh a practical basis. KOBE PORT CLOSED (Rec. 11.25 a.m.) t x , SHANGHAI, July 14. The port of Kobe will be closed to foreigners, for 10 days from to-mor-row. The Associated Press correspond dent states it is believed that the Japanese are deliberately giving the impression of a move against Russia, to cloak the real move against IndoChina. Extreme tension is apparent at Saigon. COTTON MILLS SEIZED NANKING, July 14. The Government has announced that it wil Hake over two Chineseowned cotton mills on August I, of which one is registered as British and the other as American.
