'An old Scottish gardener accompanied his employer, an artist, to an exhibition of pictures. Among them was one labelled “The Fall.” The gardener surveyed it so intently that his employer was moved to ask him his opinion of it. “I think no great things of it,” was the reply. “Why, sir, jive is tempting Adam wi’ an apple of a variety that wasn’t known until aboot twenty years ago.” .
