RUBBERISED CLOTHING
CLAIMS FOR NEW TREATMENT.
[BY CABLE—PRESS ASSN.—COPYRIGHT.]
(Received March 29, 10.25 a.m.) CHICAGO, March 28.
A simple rubber treatment for fabrics, claimed to double the wear of clothing, was reported to-day to the seventh annual National Chemurgic Conference. Dr. Teaguse, chemist to the United States Rubber Company, said the new process prevents shrinkage and moth damage to clothes. The treatment is called kolox, and consists oi depositing tiny particles of latex rubber solids into the fabric. These particles bind the fibres, making them more durable, giving double life to most clothing. Durability is added without appreciably decreasing the flexibility, feel, or other desirable properties.
