A Canberra cablegram stated that the Commonwealth Government has invited Sir Walter Citrine, Secretatry of the British Trades’ Union Congress, who is now in Canada, to extend his tour to Australia.

Mr J. R. Keddie, of Greymouth, has enlisted in the Royal New Zealand Navy, and having passed the medical and educational tests, this week, has joined the H.M.S. Philomel, at Devonport, Auckland.

The Mayor (Mr. F. A. Kitchingham) will leave this evening for Christchurch, to represent the Greymouth Patriotic Committee, at the entertainment being tendered to the West Coast troops at the Welcome Club, to-mor-row.
