REEFTON NOTES

[our own correspondent.] REEFTON, December 31. Mi’ and Mrs Robert Holland (Wellington) are visiting Reefton. Mr W. Stevenson (Christchurch) was a week-end visitor to Reefton. Sergeant Hodgins, of Christchurch, who was for some years in charge of the Reefton Police Station, is visiting the district, on holiday. Mr Justice O’Regan, of Wellington, is visiting his son, Mr P. J. O’Regan (Landing). Miss J. Wills (Christchurch) is visiting Reefton. The wedding was solemnised on December 27 at Knox Church, Reefton, by Rev. R. Seaton, of Olive Ruby, elder daughter of Mrs and the late Mr E. F. Rollerson, of Reefton, and John Inglis Braidwood, of Ayrshire. The bride was escorted by her uncle, Mr Robert Taylor, of Waiuta, and her model frock was of ivory satin cut on classical lines.. A full train fell from the waistline, and was inset with Venetian lace. The handembroidered veil was held with a head-dress of seed pearls, and she carried a bouquet of Christmas lilies and maidenhair fern. Mrs J. Ward attended her sister as matron of honour, and wore a frock of cyclamen sheer and a big crinoline hat to tone. The bouquet was of cyclamen sweet peas and maidenhair fern. Max Rollerson, nephew of the bride, was a page-boy, and was dressed in full kilt. As the bridal party left the church, Margaret Rollerson, niece of the bride, handed a lucky horse shoe to her. Mr Ken. J. Patterson was best mian. A wedding reception was held at the home of the bride’s mother and Mrs Rollerson received the guests wearing a navy costume with navy hat. Mr and Mrs Braidwood left for Otago for a tour, the bride travelling in a clover coat with navy frock, hat, and accessories. During the wedding ceremony Miss C. Brown' (Greymouth) sang as a solo, “Bless this House,” and during the signing of the register, Miss Lesley Burns sang “O Promise Me.” ’

The barrier for the first race will fly at 12.30 at Omoto to-morrow and Thursday—Advt.
