IMMIGRANTS FOR PALESTINE.

JERUSALEM, December 29.

The Government has announced that it will not issue the immigration schedule for the seven months’ period ending April, because 8000 immigrants who have been unable to reach Palestine because of war-time difficulties, may arrive in the next few months. Since April, 1939, 12,270 legal and 26,000 illegal imigrants have entered Palestine.

U.S.A. WHEAT.

WASHINGTON, December 28.

The U.S. Agriculture Department has forecast a record 1941 American wheat supply of 1230 million bushels, providing a 500 million bushels surplus. Supplies for the 1940 crop are estimated at 1100 million bushels. The 1941 figure is made up of a crop of 830 million bushels, plus 400 million bushels as a carry-over.
