Christmas cards from Expeditionary Force soldiers in the Middle East [and in Britain are now being received bv relations and friends in New Zealand. One from an Auckland battalion platoon in England has an ink drawing of New Zealanders moving through the countryside in cars, buses and Bren gun-carriers. Another, apparently adopted by all New Zealand units in the Middle East, has a very capably-executed pencil or charcoal drawing of a New Zealand soldier, in shorts and open-necked shirt, and. wearing the familiar peaked hat, standing before a background of min{arets and spires. The artist’s name is Peter Mclntyre. Both cards bear the 'Usual greetings under a reproduction of the Nevk Zealand badge.
