FRANCE AND GERMANY

WAR AGAINST BRITAIN? [BY CABLE. —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT ] LONDON, December 4. The mass expulsion of French citizens from Lor."aine has been extended by the Germans, to Alsace. It is recalled that the first expulsions from Lorraine began after the Vichy Cabinet had yielded to M. Laval’s plan for unlimited French cooperation with Germany. M. Laval is shortly to go to Berlin to discuss French and German collaboration, according to a statement by Marshal Petain. Marshal Petain also said that Germany could -undoubtedly co-operate in the protection of French North African and West African possessions menaced by General de Gaulle and Britain, but France would then have to declare war on Britain. This would result in the bombing of Paris and other cities, which should not be allowed to occur.
