WEST COAST ASSOCIATION The fortnightly meeting of the West Coast Cricket Association was held last evening, there being, present, Messrs J. Stokes (Chairman), J. Guy, E. N. Taylor, H. Westwood, D. Anderson, J. P. Matthews (Treasurer), and L. C. Lindley (Secretary). It was decided to send a team to Ashburton early in February, to defend the Minor Association’s Trophy. A team will also defend the Forrest Cup against Buller, at Westport, early in January. An invitation is to be extended to the Nelson team to play in Greymouth at a date to be arranged. A letter of appreciation was received from Wigram, expressing appreciation of the hospitality extended to the Royal Air Force team, and inviting a West Coast team to play at Wigram early in the New Year. An entry from the Brunner Club was accepted, for the junior competition. Permission to travel to Nelson for the annual match was granted to the Technical College first eleven. The Third Grade Competition will be suspended after December 7, for the school holidays. A vote of thanks was passed to the umpires, groundsman, and officials in charge of arrangements for the recent Air Force match.
