INTOXICATED DRIVERS [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, November 30. Said to be making his second appearance on a charge of intoxication while in charge of a car, Thomas Greenwood Schofield, aged 48, an engineer, was sentenced by Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., to imprisonment with hard labour for 21 days. His license was cancelled for three years. CHRISTCHURCH, November 30. William Oliver Nelson, a fruiterer, aged 24, of London road, was fined £lO for being intoxicated while in charge of a motor-car. Nelson’s license was cancelled and he was declared unfit to hold another for two years. . CHRISTCHURCH, December 2. Arthur Harry Moxley, 49, secretary of the St. Albans Church of Christ, had four brandies at the Ashburton races, to cure an attack of sickness. His erratic driving on the way back to Christchurch led to him pleading guilty in Court, to-day, to being intoxicated while in charge of a car. He was fined £lO, and his licence was cancelled for two years. CART-DRIVER KILLED' OPOTIKI, December 2. Con Saccone, 20, employee' of Albert Keller, Paerata ridge, was killed almost instantly, when driving a cream cart which capsized, pinning him under, and breaking his back. He was a former resident of Kaitoki. CYCLIST’S DEATH CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 1. Patrick Joseph Noonan, aged .74 years, of 500 St. Asaph street, who was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital on Thursday evening at 6.45, suffering from concussion, died this evening. He had been knock T eel off his bicycle.by a motor-car at the corner of Tuam street and Nursery road.
