WEST COAST MEN’S'DEPARTURE. —- ' ' I Over 200 Territorials, from Greymouth, Hokitika, and Westport, will 1 leave before the end of this month, for Burnham camp, where they will undergo three months’ intensive training. The advance party, comprising 17 men from A Company (Greymouth) will leave by next Thursday’s express, and the balance will proceed to camp on Monday,. September 30. The advance party will parade at the Greymouth Drill Hall at 9.30 a.m. next Thursday, and will march' to the railway station to entrain. The Greymouth district members of the main party, on September 30, will parade at the Drill Hall at 9.15 a.m., and will then march to the railway station. Hokitika members of the main party/ numbering approximately will parade at the Hokitika railway station at 8 a.m., on September 30. All West Coast Territorials, except those personally notified of their exemption, will be included in these drafts and they are required to take the following articles to camp: Kit bag, all uniform, full Mills webb equipment, including haversack and pack, toilet gear and mirror, boot and , brass cleaning equipment, needle, thread and buttons, mug, knife and fork, dessert spoon, teaspoon, two plates, tea towel, sports gear, and Social Security levy book. Musical instruments may also be taken. OFFICERS PROMOTED. Sergeant-Major S. Davy, who has been attached to the Army Office at Greymouth, has been appointed Regimental Quartermaster-Sergeant for the Burnham Territorial Camp; and will leave with the ffiain party of West Coast Territorials on September 30. t j Lieutenant E. R. Parke, of Westport, officer commanding the West Coast company of the National Military Reserve, has received advice’ of his promotion to the rank of captain.
