An old farmer caught one of his men stealing wheat, and dismissed him at once. .The vicar heard of the matter, and called on the farmer to plead for another chance to be given to the offender. At the end of an eloquent appeal on the man’s behalf, he said: “Remember that we are told in the Scriptures, ‘lf . a man smites thee on one cheek, turn him the other also.’ ”, The old farmer snorted. “That’s just what I did,” he replied firmly. “He stole my wheat, so I gave him the sack.” \
