MONTHLY MEETING HELD. The Westland Land Board held its monthly meeting at Hokitika, yesterday; present: The Commissioner .oi Crown Lands, Mr. B. King (chairman), Messrs. B. Ward, M. Wallace and E. A. Kirby. The following applications were dealt with: Block VIII., Waitaha S.D.: 120 acres, Regs: A. R. Elcock. —Adjourned. Section 3772, Block X, Mawheranui: 4a Ir 18.9 p: Ren.L. Sec. 146. Mrs. P. M. Smith.—Granted. Block V, Waiwhero S.D.: Sec. 147: W. Rowe. —Resolution of August 21 rescinded, and application regraifted together with adjoining river bank reserve. Section 81, Block IV., Mawheranui: 79a Ir 9p: Regs: F. G. Hahn. —Referred, to Warden for report. Section 3094, Block 11, Ahaura: 100 acres: Regs: G. G. Erickson. —Granted. Block V, Waiwhero: Sec. 147: A. McLagan. - Granted. Reserve 1278, Block IV, Waimea S.D.: 1 acre: Section 147: Allan Low. —Granted. Timber: Patrick Moore applied for a timber-splitting license over an area of 20 acres more or less, Block V, Cobden Survey District. —Adjourned. J. Campbell and Son applied for a timber-splitting license over an area of 60 acres: Block VII, Waimea.—Adjourned. A. Johns applied for a tim-ber-splitting license over an area of 5 acres in Block 11, Ahaura Survey District.—Adj ourned. Exchange: Section 3082, Block 11, Ahaura S.D.: G. M. Erickson: Regulation License to Renewable Lease. — Exchange granted. Miscellaneous: Block 1, Cobden Survey District, 25 acres, E. Cain. The Commissioner placed before the Board the above license, and recommended the area of license be reduced by 16 acres and rent by 10/- per annum in respect to area comprised therein within the Nelson-Westland Coal Fields Reserve, as leasing of this area is under the jurisdiction of the Grey Harbour Board. —Area of license reduced by 16 acres and rent by 10/— per annum, as from July 1, 1940. Section 10, Town of Okarito, Extension No. 1: J. Shannon applied to have the above area cancelled.—License terminated as at June 30, 1940. Section 2649, Block 11, Mawheranui S.D., area 189 acres: J. M. Neilson, whose lease over Regs 250 expires on the 30/6/42, applied for a renewal of his license.—Referred to Warden for report.
