DISSENSIONS IN MOROCCO. _ [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.,] (Recd. September 18, 1.10 p.m.) LONDON, September 17. “The Times” says,: General Catroux,. who conferred with military authorities after his arrival in London, refused to obey the, orders of the Vichy Government, and is determined’to fight in co-operation with the Allies. His help and advice should be of the greatest value. He has spent almost his entire military career in the French colonies. “The Times’s’” Tangier correspondent says: Reports are reaching Algeciras, Ceuta, and Tangiers, of many riots in Casablanca and elsewhere, as the result of clashes between Vichy and de Gaulle supporters. There have been many arrests. Spanish troops are concentrating on the French Moroccan frontier as a precaution.
BRITISH PLANE SHOT DOWN ' ,VICHY, September 17. It is officially stated that a French fighter patrol shot down a British seaplane near Casablanca, after the seaplane had opened fire. Three of the crew we're rescued.
