UNITED DEFEAT RUNANGA. The third and final contest of the season for the Kent Honours Board was held • last evening between United (holders) and Runanga. The subject was: “That, in New Zealand, government by a commission of six of proved administrative ability and non-party views, invested with full legislative and executive authority, would be preferable to our present system of government.” The judge, Mr W. D. Taylor, awarded United 351 points and Runanga 345. Individual points were awarded as follow: —United (affirmative), W. Sheppard 78 ((reply 12), A. Hay 83, H. Rollinson 76, S. Quintrell 83, team work .19, total 351. Runanga (negative): S. Braithwaite 77 (reply 14), W. Williams 73, J. Unwin 79, W. Osborne-Brown 87, team work 15, total 345.
