RAYNER v. HUTCHINSON

BLENHEIM, August 20. Clarrie Rayner (9.7) won on a foul from the American Negro, Johnny Hutchinson (9.8), last night, in the second of a scheduled twelve round professional boxing contest. Hutchinson was twice cautioned for illegal punching. At the end of the second round, he landed a rabbit punch, after the gong, and was disqualified. RAYNER BANKRUPT Liabilities to unsecured creditors of £lO7/2/3 and to secured creditors of £l7B as against assets estimated at £197 were disclosed at a meeting of creditors in Blenheim recently in the estate of Clarrie Rayner. In his statement to his creditors, the bankrupt attributed his position to inability to obtain regular employment. He was out of work and was being pressed for payment by several creditors, and he had not means with which to meet their claims. During the last twelve months his earnings would not have averaged more than £3/10/- a week due to the many periods off work. He had made every endeavour to obtain work bu£ had met with no success. In order to supplement his wages, he had recommenced professional boxing two years ago, but this had not proved a great deal of help owing to the expenses necessary.
