BRADFORD WOOL. (Received June 28, 11.50 a.m.) LONDON, June ,27. Bradford reports state that new business on civilian account is small. Most of the orders placed were for merino qualities, for delivery in the near future. Nobody is disposed to enter commitments for delivery far ahead. Activity on Government account is fully maintained, and new orders have been placed. STERLING. NEW YORK, June 27. Sterling 400. IMPERIAL CHEMICALS. WELLINGTON, June 28. The Imperial Chemical'lndustries of Australia and New Zealand, Limited,' have declared a dividend for the half year ended July 31, of five per cent, per annum, on preference shares.'
HIDES LEVY.
WELLINGTON, June 28.
The Hides Committee announces a further deduction in the export levy on hides. The new rates are ox, cow; bull and yearlings l-16d per lb; calfskins, other than freezers, id. These rates are in respect to hides loaded on an overseas steamer on and after June 29. RESERVE BANK. Sterling exchange held by the Reserve Bank at the close of business on Monday was £14,825,826, a rise of £279,814 on the figure of a week before. The note issue, at £18,616,872, was greater by £247,758, and there Was again considerable movement in deposits, those of the State falling by £465,992, and those of the banks rising by £465,727 to £16,215,092. Other demand liabilities were £126,95$ higher at £378,485. Advances to the State for marketing had expanded by £142,929 to £3,756,967, but those for other purposes were unchanged at £19,760,000.

The Blackball Creek dredge has been idle for the past few days, owing to a break-down on the ladder. ARGO DREDGE. The Argo dredge has been idle also, owing to a break in the bottom tumbler.
