PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE

MEETING AT GREYMOUTH The Greymouth Patriotic Committee met yesterday afternoon, at the Borough Council Chambers, there being present: The Mayor (Mr. F. A. Kitchingham), Messrs. J. W. Greenslade, W. Meldrum, T. P. Ryan, F. W. Baillie, A. H. McKane, P. J. McLean, G. Mitchell, F. H. Denton, and W. H. Parfitt (secretary). A motion of thanks was passed to United Sawmills, Te Kinga, for their donation of timber for the erection of the Patriotic Committee’s shop. Mr. Ryan reported that he had the arrangements for the shop site in hand. The selling of tickets for the raffle for a chesterfield suite to-morrow week was left to the women’s committee. Mr. McLean’s offer to donate a pedigree bull for a raffle was accepted with thanks.

GREYMOUTH PATRIOTIC APPEAL Help is required for our soldiers and their dependents. Donations may be forwarded to the “Star” Office, or to Mr F. H.
