WELLINGTON, February 20. Major R. Hunter Blair, of Christchurch, is back from'.a nine months visit to England, accompanied by Mrs. Blair. They said that they, travelled most of the way in an Italian, liner, and had no . adventure to relate. ..Italian ships are lit up at night, and are free of the inconvenience caused by blacking out. Major arid Mrs. -Blair came to New Zealand in retirement, five years ago, but have been back and forward several times, since. Teschemaker have returned to make their’ home in the Dominion, after' r an absence of 25 years. Mr. Teschemaker was a pastoralist near damaru, and now has similar interests in South America, whence-they have come via tile Old Country. In New Zealand for the Presbyterian Centennial General Assembly of the Presbyterian Chui’cli is Rev. G. H. McNeur, who has retired from the Presbyterian Chinese Mission, after 38 years in China. He intends to return to China in a year.or so, to continue voluntarily in mission teaching in the United Church of Christ. of China, whic'h”cbinb"iries the teachings of the '■Anglican, Congregational, and other churches. He was teaching,in Canton, but the 'College'’ 'has'lieen moved to Yunan, almost on the Burma border, in..order..to..escape the Japanese control. The Chinese have moved nearly all their eclucational institutions in the same way.
