AUSTRALIAN CYCLISTS [FEB PBESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, December 11. The New Zealand Amateur Cycling Association received a cablegram today, announcing that the Australian Olympic selectors had chosen Clayton (Queensland), Walsh (N.S.W.), and Stewart (Victoria) to tour New Zealand, but stipulating the riders must be accompanied by an Australian manager. This is not acceptable to the New Zealand Association, who replied asking the Australian authoiities to reconsider the matter, pointing out that unless they were prepared to send a team without a manager, the New Zealand Association will have to cancel the tour. Originally, the New Zealand Association proposed inviting four riders, but owing to the increase in fares, and the extra expenditure involved, the number was reduced to three, and it is on this ground that the New Zealand Association is unprepared to agree to a manager coining with the team. The appointment of an Australian manager would involve additional expenditure of £92.

The arrangements provide for the Australians arriving at Auckland a fortnight hence.
