NAZI SOCIALISM

DENOUNCED BY MR. ATTLEE.

[BRITISH OFFICIAL WIRELESS.]

(Received December 11, 2.30 p.m.) RUGBY, December 10.

Mr. Attlee; speaking at Bristol, declared that Nazi Socialism was merely national collectivism, “organised in the interests of a particular gang.” It was not Socialism at all. Although there was a great deal of collectiveness iu Germany, said Mr. Attlee, there was no freedom, but tyranny. In Russia, there was a diversion of Socialism, as there was a denial of individual freedom.

Expressing Labour’s disgust at Russia’s attitude, he continued: “We have seen in the past few months a complete moving round of people who talked about democracy, about the freedom of small nations, for and against aggression, and who themselves have committed an act of aggression against a small people with a far-higher standard than they had themselves.”
