NEW WAR RISK RATES. IBY CABLE —I’KESB aSSN. —COPYBIGHT. J LONDON, December 5. New war risk rates have been announced. Under the Allied flag they are 50Zper cent., and under a neutral flag 35/-. The rates concern voyages between North and South America, and Australia and New Zealand. WOOL APPRAISEMENT WELLINGTON, December 7. A report on the first appraisement of wool held in Wellington, which was completed on December 6, states that the majority of the wools, particularly from the Wa.irarapa district, did not open up as attractively as they did last season, being in lighter condition and showing more tenderness, due no doubt to the dry Autumn experienced. As expected, finer‘crossbreds showed a decided increase in price, as compared with the previous season, while the stronger grades have not shown the same, proportionate increase, but it is hoped, generally speaking, that the realisations will prove to be satisfactory to The growers. The next appraisement will be held early in January., . RABBITSKIN SALE. The last Dunedin rabbitskin sale for 1939 was held on Tuesday, when a good catalogue, consisting mainly of Summers, Springs, and milkys with small parcels of outgoing and spotted, was submitted. WELLINGTON, December 6. The National Electric Company has advised the Stock Exchange Association that the dividend recommended for the year is 6 per cent., payable on December 15. WILTON COLLIERIES. AUCKLAND, December 6. Profit of Wilton Collieries (1934) Ltd., for the year ended October 31 was £4471, against £3843 in the previous year. A final dividend of 3 per cent, is recommended, making.G per cent, for the year (unchanged).. RESERVE BANK RETURN. A decline of £662,911 is shown this week in the Reserve Bank’s sterling holding, bringing the figure back to £5,961,673. Advances for marketing are £70.692 lower, but those for other State purposes are higher by £615,000 al £17,290,000. Investments show an increase of £138,354. On’ the liabilities side, the note issue has expanded by £75,663, and demand liabilities are lower, a rise of £441,470 in those of the State being I more than offset by a fall of £620,741 I in those of the banks, and of £90,566 i in others. ADDISON’S FLAT. WESTPORT, December 7. At a meeting of the directors of tho Addisons Flat Gold Mining Company this evening, a dividend of 20 per cent., payable on December 18, was declared. “Considering the operations in the present paddock commenced two months ago,” stated the chairman, Mr G. M. Powell, “the dividend augurs well for the future of the company, as there is continuous work ahead without again shifting the plant for three years. The company has been in existence five years, and the above dividend brings the total up to 93 per cent., or an average of 18 per cent, per vear.” The return for the fortnight ended December 2 was 36ozs 15dwts for 21J shifts.
