DOLPHIN TRAGEDY.

WELLINGTON, November 3

Evidence taken at the departmental inquiry into the tragedy at Lyttelton when . the fishing boat Dolphin sank, and at the inquest on the death of Frederick James Brasell. was being considered by the Government, said the Minister for Defence (Mr. Jones) in reply to an inquiry this evening. The Minister indicated that he had nothing to add to this statement at the moment.

MOTORISTS INJURED. NAPIER, November 3

Three members of a concert party travelling between Napier and Waipunga last evening were taken to hospital after an accident when a car plunged down a 60-foot bank near Waipunga. Mrs. R. Marsh received shock and chest injuries, and is in a serious condition. Mi- Harold Tui received shock and chest injuries. His condition is satisfactory. Miss Hazel Pittman, 16, is also suffering from shock and bruises. Mr Ray, a single man, received minor injuries, for some time.

WAR PENSIONER ROBBED. AUCKLAND, November 3

Left lying on the ground by two assailants, who made off after assaulting and robbing him last night, Hugh Twiddle, a war pensioner, 47, of Glen Eden, was admitted to the Auckland Hospital suffering from an injury to the eye and extensive cuts to the face.

T'r. assault took place outside the Y. -imber Company’s premises in Fanshawe Street on an ill-lighted portion of the road.

A watchman in the timber yard telephoned the police, but no trace of the assailants was found.
