A PEACEFUL ANNIVERSARY

There has been a complete absence of scenes to-day on the twenty-second anniversary of the Balfour declaration in favour of Zionism. This provides proof that the Arabs are abiding by Governor McMichael’s exhortation to drop their differences during the war.
The Arabs, for the first time for years, have not hung out black flags on the anniversary.
BRITISH WHITE PAPER GRAND MUFTI’S ACCEPTANCE I LONDON. November 3. J The Cairo correspondent of “The! Times” says: The Premier of Egypt ! said he had received letters indicating that the Arab Grand Mufti, who is now at Baghdad, is willing to accept J the British White Paper of March 17 last.
Negotiations are now proceeding, he added, for an amnesty for the Palestinian Arabs who are in exile and those who are in prison.
