LONDON, November 2
The Home Secretary, Sir John Simon, winding up a debate in the House of Commons on old age pensions, declared that an inquiry in!o the question would be resumed .immediately, and would he carried out with the greatest expedition.
A Labour motion for an immediate improvement in the rates' was defeated by 264 votes to 144.
