INCREASE IN PRODUCTION.

Sir Frederick Stewart, Acting-Min-ister of Supply, stated last night that the next year’s production of heavy machine-guns at the Lithgow small arms factory, New South Wales, will be eight times that of 1938. He pointed out that a portion of the needs of two other Dominions would be met at this factory, where nearly £2,000,000 is being spent on additional plant and extensions, giving employment to 800 skilled tradesmen.
