INCREASED AT AUCKLAND.

AUCKLAND, November 1.

Increases in the price, of beer and spirits were made by’ hotels in Auckland to-day. This action followed the recent increase of 3d a. gallon in excise duty’ on beer, and the raising of the duty’ on spirits. All pint bottles of beer were increased by’ Id. Local beer is now 9d over the bar, and southern lOd. Bottles to take away’ are 9Jd and 105 d respectively.
