MANGANESE ORE
SOVIET’S OFFER TO AMERICA. [by CABLE PRESS ASSN. COPYRIGHT.] (Recd. October 20, 12.20 p.m.) NEW YORK, October 19. The Washington correspondent of the United Press of America states that the Soviet has offered to sell to the United States 200,000 long tons of manganese ore. The bid, worth approximately 5,000,000 dollars, has surprised officials, since they believed the Russian-German Pact had diverted the bulk of the Russian surplus of manganese production to the Reich.
