POLICE STAFF APPOINTMENTS. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, October 20. Two of Wellington's best-known police officers have been appointed to the staff which is to do duty at the .Exhibition. The station will be under the direction of Sub-Inspector D. JO’Neill, and the senior member of the detective staff will he DetectiveSergeant P. Doyle. The force, exclusive of the above, will consist of four sergeants, two detectives, and 21 constables. The sergeants will he Messrs Beard, Johnston, and Alsop (of "Wellington), and W. S. Brown (of Auckland). The plain-clothes men are Detectives Halcrow (Christchurch). Gibson and W. Ritchie (Wellington), and H. A. Wilson (Auckland).
