TERRIFIC EXPLOSION
IN U.S. POWDER FACTORY [BY CABLE PRESS ASSN. COPYRIGHT.] • ’ (Recd. Oct. 19, 10.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, October 18. A terrific explosion shook the National Powder Company’s plant at Eldred, 15 miles from Bradford (Pennsylvania), to-day, shaking houses.'lt is reported that five men were killed. The explosion is reported to have occurred in the gelatine section, at 7.30 a.m., while the majority of- the employees were on their way to work. The entire plant, which was small, was destroyed. There is no indication, so far, of 1 sabotage.
