The Ministry of Labour and National Services Ims announced that representatives of the British Employers' Confederation and the Trades Union Congress General Council met. to-day, to consider the establishment of machinery for the joint discussion of problems which confront the Government and industry in war-time. It was agreed, subject on the part of the Trades Union Congress, to confirmation by the General Council, to set up a National Joint Council to advise on all matters in which employers and workers have a common interest, it being understood that the Council would be purely advisory, and would not invade the jurisdiction of the organisation in the respective industries. NATIONAL SAVINGS RUGBY, October 18. The National Savings Committee has announced that 377,943 national savings certificates were purchased during the week ended September 30.
