PURCHASED BY BRITAIN. [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] (Received October 19, 11.30 a.m.) BUENOS AIRES, October 18. Britain has purchased 170,000 tons of Argentine beef, and 30.000 tons of mutton. A Monte Video message stated: The Commerce Minister announced that an agreement for the British purchase of 8000 tons of Uruguayan beef and 5000 tons of mutton will be concluded I to-day. Dr. Burgin, in the Commons, said that the increase in importation resulting from the purchase of the New 1 Zealand and Australian wool clips • would necessitate a modification of • distribution methods in Britain, the ■ precise form of which is being considered.
