WEDDING

ALLAN—McVIE.

The wedding was solemnised at Holy Trinity Church on Saturday, of Phyllis, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs J. McVie, Cobden, and Alexander, third' son of Mr and Mrs C. Allan, also of Cobden. Archdeacon J. A. Jermyn officiated, and Mrs W. Baird was organist. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a gown of white angleskin lace over satin beaute, made with tight bodice, finished with a row of satin buttons to the waist, -tnd Peter Pan collar. The flared skirt fell to form a train. Her embroidered tulle veil was held by a bandeau of orange blossom, and fell to form a second train. She carried a sheaf of Spring flowers.

The bridesmaids were Misses Kit Allan (chief), sister of the bridegroom, and Edna Sullivan, niece of the bride, and their frocks were of green and apricot lace over satin respectively. made on the same lines as the bride’s. They wore topknots of flowers to match their dresses, with shoulder-length tulle veils falling from the back. They carried bouquets of Spring flowers. The best man was Mr Laurie Climo (Roa), and Mr Les. Howat (Cobden) was groomsman.

The reception was held at the residence of Mrs G. Allan, Cobden. Mrs J. McVie, mother of the bride, wore a black costumq with black and white Breton sailor hat and carried a black stole fur. Mrs G. Allan wore a black costume, with black hat, with pink flowers. After the reception the guests were entertained at Mrs G Allan’s, where an enjoyable evening was spent in games and community singing. Mr- and Mrs A. Allan will reside in Cobden.
