Six British and one Gurkha were killed and one British officer and 13 British rangers were wounded in operations against tribesmen at Razmak. The operations were successful.

Only the captain, first officer, and a child were saved when the coaster Itacare capsized in heavy seas, while entering Ilheos harbour. Forty-six passengers and seventeen of the crew were drowned. .
