IMPORTERS’ TROUBLES
NATIONAL CONFERENCE URGED
[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.]
AUCKLAND, August 24.
A national conference, representative of all commercial and financial interests, is being urged by the Bureau of Importers, Auckland, to make representations to Mr Nash, immediately after his return to New Zealand next month, regarding the serious position which has developed as a result of Government control of the Dominion’s sterling exchange funds.
“The Bureau has taken the initiative, as the difficulties to which trade has been subjected are now so embarrassing that the position must be clarified at the earliest possible moment. I suggest that a conference should be held in Wellington,” said Mr W. A. Boucher, President of the Bureau.
