WEST COAST PRACTICES. [special to “stab.”] INVERCARGILL, August 22. The West Coast basketball representatives played two practice games to-day. They defeated Manawatu by nine goals to eight. In the second game against the Canterbury first grade team, West Coast played excellently in the first half, and led by seven goals to five at the interval. Lack of fitness and experience in hard games was evident in the second spell. Final: Canterbury 15. West Coast fl. This was an enjoyable game, giving West Coast valuable experience.
