[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] INVERCARGILL, August 21. The council of the New Zealand Basketball Referees’ Association decided to-night that the board of examiners be three for each island, one of whom may be a theoretical examiner, and all of whom shall be practical examiners. A theoretical examination for New Zealand referees will be held on one day throughout New Zealand on the first Monday in July. HOCKEY WANGANUI, August 21. Results:—Stratford Technical High School defeated Mount Albert Grammar School, 3-2; Auckland Grammar School defeated Gisborne High School, 8-2; Wanganui Technical College defeated Palmerston North High School, 6-3; Wellington College defeated Wairarapa College, 1-0; Mount Albert Grammar School defeated Gisborne High School, 7-1; Auckland Grammar School defeated Stratford Technical High School 2-1.
