WAZIRISTAN OPERATIONS. [BRITISH OFFICIAL WIRELESS.] RUGBY, August 20. A despatch by the Commauder-in-Chief in India (General Sir Robert Cassels) on the Waziristan operations in 1938, pays a tribute to the work of the Royal Air Force. The despatch records that in accordance with the practice observed throughout the operations, whenever recourse was had to punitive air action against hostile tribes, due warning for the evacuation of women and was given. Throughout the period reviewed, the Fakir of Ipi remained the focus of active hostility. Casualties suffered by the Government forces during 1938 wore 62 killed and 206 injured.
