REEFTON NOTES

[OUR own correspondent.] REEFTON, July IS. Mr and Mrs D. Panckhurst, who have been on holiday in Wellington, have returned. Mr A. J. Butler, of Reefton, is on tho seriously-ill list., In showery weather, at the Reefton Racecourse on Sunday, Kiwi senior League footballers defeated Waiuta, 32/8. Waratah defeated Grey Valley 8/0. Heavy showers of rain fell at Reefton on Sunday, and the night was cold. Yesterday was a d’ay of bright sunshine, with an appreciable amount of heat. The snowline on the Paparoa Ranges is at a low level, and the tops are carrying a heavier coat of snow than they have done for some months. Much spade work has been carried out in the past two months by the Committee appointed to organise the Jubilee of the Reefton District High School, formerly, the Reefton State School. The committee have been faced with a. heavy task in ;be scanning of all entrance rolls since the school opened. Over 1000 circulars have been sent to ex-pupils for enrolment. The committee are anxious that no one who attended tho school should be forgotten, and any residents of the district who can supply addresses of ex-scholars- will assist b*’ forwarding them to the secretary, Mr J. DeLaca, A meeting of T he committee and all interested is set down for an early date, to carry the Jubilee arrangements a step further.
