There was a good attendance at | the meeting of the Greymouth Group Committee of the Pan-Pacific Women’s Association. An apology was received from Mrs. C. N. F*age (secretary), who was absent from Greymouth. Considerable interest was shown in arranging the programme for the next half-year. It was decided to spend part of every meeting in gaining knowledge of the various countries of the Pacific area. Members promised to collect magazine and newspaper articles, pictures, objects of art and native workmanship from each country in turn. Whereever possible, short talks about them will be given. It is hoped in this way to gain a. wider knowledge of the customs and life of neighbours in the Pacific. It was decided that this period at the two next meetings, July 27 and August 10. should he devoted to the study of China and its people. As the course of lectures on New Zealand history is drawing to a close, the set of lectures on ‘‘Some Problems of the Pacific" will he commenced. As a background to these,, it is hoped to have a course of lectures on the two main subjects of the conference. These will be given al the regular afternoon meetings and the first will he given on July 27 byMr. W. M. Stewart, on -New Zealand contributions to Pacific culture, with some special reference to education."
