The opinion that farmers’ utility trucks should be placed in a separate classification, as far as registration was ccncerned, was ■ expressed by Councillor G. .W. Gibson, ar. a meeting of the Inglewood County Council". He held that under 'the present method of classifying farmers’ trucks as. trade -motors, farmers were being penalised in the matter of third party insurance. Farmers’Morries, he submitted, did not .use the roads to. anything like the same extent as trade lorries, and yet they had to pay the same insurance. In inany cases, too, the farmers’ utility lorry took the place cf a motor-car, and Councillor Gibson submitted that, they should only pay the same third party insurance.
