SERBO-CROAT PROBLEMS
BASIS FOR DISCUSSION [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] (Reed. April 18, 1.30 p.m.). ZAGREB, April 17. Mr. Matchek, Prime Minister, has agreed to a. basis for the discussion of Serbo-Croat problems. A further conference will be held after reference to the parties. It is understood that the agreement, provides for the uniting of the two Croat provinces, in which there are 4.500,000 Croats, and the granting of self-government, the Central Government continuing to control defence, finance, and foreign policy. The proposals will be presented to Parliament, by the new Government, in which the Croats are represented.
