MH, HODCENS ENDS MISSION [By CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] SYDNEY, April 15. Mr. J. Hodgens, M.P., who is a passenger by the Awatea, said he had engaged 453 tradesmen in Australia, most of whom are now in New Zealand. Mr. Hodgens said he had received every possible courtesy from the Government departments, union officials and others, and a difficult task had been made easy for him. ARRIVALS AT AUCKLAND AUCKLAND, April 17. In search of work in New Zealand, 44 men arrived this morning by the Aorangi, from Sydney, the largest party yet to come to Auckland in search of employment. The party included twelve carpenters, but many trades and callings were represented. The men were met on board by the placement officer (Mr. J. R. Elsbury), who stated that there would be no difficulty in absorbing the tradesmen in the party.
