The Meat Board yesterday met representatives of the shipping companies, when we were assured that an endeavour would be made to have an extra two or three ships allotted to New Zealand during the next few months. We were also informed that immediate steps would be taken to ease the position in Hawke’s Bay concerning the glut of frozen meat in freezing works.” ______
