THIEVES SENTENCED. SYDNEY, February 4

Allan Reynolds, aged 19, and James Wilkinson, aged 25, labourers, who pleaded' guilty to having assaulted Pastor Anderson( on December 14), and having robbed him of a motorcar, suitcase and' £l, were sentenced to three years’ and two years’ imprisonment respectively at Newcastle.

DALFRAM DEPARTS SYDNEY, February 3.

The Dalfram sailed from Port Kembla, to-nigM, direct 'for Japan, ten new members of the crew replacing that number of deserters. The large township of Wollongong was glad the vessel had left. There has been great, disturbance of business for three months. SYDNEY, February 4.

The Dalfram left the'wharf at Port Kembla last night, but anchored in the harbour. It is not known when she will sail for Japan. It was previously reported that she had sailed last night, direct for Japan.

DEFENCE PLANS. DEVONPORT. February 4

Mr Lyons announced that extensive plans had been completed by the Commonwealth Government, to ensure prompt delivery of defence supplies, and the immediate mobilisation of industry in an emergency. 'I he Industrial'Advisory Panel, appointed last year, would undertake immediately a complete review of the supply and works aspect of the defence programme. Mr Lyons also announced that under the scheme which the Government adopted for the production ol ammunition, nineteen annexes would be established at private factories, and the State railway workshops.
