The Navy Office announces that the Japanese submarine 163 was sunk y-es-terday- morning after colliding with another submarine in the Bungo Straits during manoeuvres. Rescue work is proceeding. The 163 was launched at Sasebo in 1928. Her extreme length is 331 feet, and she carries a complement of 56. The sunken submarine had a. crew of 50.
