GREY EXECUTIVE MEETING

The first meeting of the Executive of the Greymouth Amateur Athletic and Harrier Club was hold at the United Pavilion last evening, there being present: Messrs T. P. Ryan (chairman), H. A. S. Silcock, I. Steel, S. McDonnell, W. Mann, and J. Lynch (secretary). Apologies for absence were received’ from Messrs E. B. E. Taylor, J. Bluett and J. Stokes. The President stressed the necessity of co-operation from the committee, and pointed out that if the club was to meet with success it would be necessary for all those interested to do their utmost. It was resolved that the club should immediately take steps towards affilia•tion with the Canterbury Centre of the Amateur Athletic Association.

A sub-committee was set up to make inquiries from various firms regarding the supply of uniforms in the club’s colours.

The matter of appointing delegates to the Canterbury Centre was held over till a later meeting.

Messrs W. Mann, E. Bastings, and J. Lynch were nominated to interview the Principal of the Technical College and examine tlie athletic equipment available at the school.

The raising of finance was left to be dealt with by the President and the Treasurer, Mr I. Steel. A drive lor lady members is to be commenced at. once, and a general meeting of ladies will lie called early next, month.

Dickson, D. Watson, R. McDougall, A. Stuart, J. Dick, it. g. Gilmour, A. Vaughan. The President emphasised that it was essential for professional athletes requiring to bo reinstated to complete and return the forms provided for this purpose immediately. Mr S. McDonnell

was instructed to deal with and expedite all such applications.
