TRAINING COLLEGE ENTRANCE

EXAM. APPLICATIONS The Canterbury Education Board is now calling for applications for admission to the Teachers’ Training College. Applications must be lodged by October 1 this year, instead of November las in previous years. The later date was found to allow education boards insufficient time to notify candidates before the end of the school year of their selection and destination. and it was decided to make the closing date a month earlier. Another change this year is that candidates will now be accepted for admission who will have reached the age of 17 years by February 28 of the year of commencing training. Formerly it was necessary to have reached I this age by December 31 of the year : before training commenced, so that the new regulations, which were gazet-j ted last year, will have the effect of reducing the entrance age by two mon Ills. There are four divisions under ) which applications may be made.
