MARSHALL NOT AVAILABLE G. Marshall (Inangahua half-back) is not available for the Seddon Shield match at Westport on Saturday. He is under medical treatment for a poisoned knee. Mr. J. Steel (sole selector) has announced a re-arrangement of the West Coast team. D. A. Hudson (Inangahua lock forward) has been added to the list of forwards, and M. Connolly previously chosen as a forward, will be transferred to the backs. Hudson was a lock forward in the New Zealand Universities team which toured Japan two years ago, and represented Buller last season. DITTMAN SHIELD At Hari Hari on Sunday, South Westland defeated the holders, Westland, in a match for the Dittman Shield, by three points to nil. Walsh scored an unconverted try for the winners. SOUTHLAND TEAM. INVERCARGILL, September 5. The Southland team for the shield challenge match against Otago on Saturday is:—Ballantyne; Mahoney Wesney, Milne; Grace, Sutherland; Purdue; George, Sherriffs, C.
