Hammer thow—Hein (Germany), 192 ft. 9sins —a world record, RECORD EFFORT FAILS. (Received September 6,11.30 a.m.) PARIS, September 5. At the European championships, S. C. Wooderson won the fifteen hundred metres in 3min. 53 2-ssec., some seconds slower than Lovelock’s world record, which, he was believed attempting to beat. GERMANY WINS. (Recd. Sept. 6, 3 p.m.). PARIS, September 4. Germany was most successful in European athletics, winning seven firsts. Finland secured five and Britain four. .
